I don’t live in constant fear of being impacted by terrorist actions such as occurred in Paris this past Friday. I’m not suggesting that such acts can’t or won’t occur in the U.S.
- It’s unacceptable that terror attacks occur anywhere.
- Despite our best efforts, terror attacks may occur on U.S. soil again.
Attacks such as occurred in Paris did not require great sophistication or planning to be effective. We see this in mass shootings that occur with all too great regularity in the U.S. I don’t see a great difference between a mass shooter and a terrorist attack.
Victims of terrorism often refuse being intimidated by it. We are seeing that in France.
Who wants to succumb to intimidation? Who wants to live life in constant fear of something that may never happen to you?
It’s discouraging to think that civilization is still at a point where we still encounter terror, mass shootings, murder, rape, domestic abuse, rampant inequality, hunger, thirst, people forced to become refugees, etc.
I don’t know if or when we will someday experience “heaven on earth.” “Heaven on earth” would require compromise and tolerance of different beliefs and belief systems. Are we capable of that?

Beautifully written.
Sometimes one does more harm to oneself than any threat “out there”.
Living fully one day at a time, serving all those that are encountered in this day, is my purpose for this gift of the present precious moments on earth, as nothing is promised or guaranteed as we go on in hopes of more experiences in our lifestream.
May we enjoy freedom from all inner and outer harm as we go about our daily business today, and may we encounter stillness at times during our many diversities today.
Thank you, my friend, for your wisdoms!
Sincerely,
Ameena
